Mythology - Inspired Tarot Decks: Greek¸ Celestial and More Fascinating Origins

Alright, let’s yak about these here… whatchamacallit… Mythology Tarot cards。 You know‚ the ones with all them fancy pictures and stories。 I ain’t no scholar‚ mind you‚ just a plain ol’ woman‚ but I seen a thing or two‚ and I can tell ya what I think about ’em。

First off‚ what’s the big deal with Greek stuff? Seems like everyone and their grandma’s got a Greek somethin’ or other these days。 Well‚ these Tarot folks‚ they love them Greek stories。 You got your Gods and Goddesses, and all sorts of creatures, they put ’em all on them cards。 I seen one deck‚ they call it the “Mythic Tarot, ” full of them Greek fellas。 Zeus and Hera‚ and all them other names I can’t hardly pronounce。 They say each card is like a different God or somethin’。 Like‚ maybe one card is Zeus when he’s all thunderin’ and mad‚ and another is Aphrodite when she’s all lovey-dovey。 Makes sense‚ I guess‚ ’cause them Greek stories are full of drama‚ just like life。

But it ain’t just the Greeks, no sirree。 There’s all sorts of other stories they use。 Some decks, they go for the stars and planets。 They call it “Celestial” or some such fancy word。 Pictures of the moon and stars‚ and they say it tells you about your destiny written in the sky。 Sounds kinda spooky, but some folks swear by it。 Then you got your Norse stories‚ with Thor and Odin and all them Vikings。 And Egyptian ones with the pyramids and pharaohs。 Even them Celts with their fairies and magic。 Seems like every place got their own stories‚ and someone made a Tarot deck about it。

  • Greek Gods and Goddesses Tarot – All about Zeus and his family drama。
  • Celestial Tarot – Stars and planets telling your fortune。
  • Norse Tarot – Vikings and thunder gods。 Tough-looking cards‚ let me tell ya。
  • Egyptian Tarot – Pyramids‚ pharaohs, and all that ancient stuff。
  • Celtic Tarot – Fairies and magic from the old country。

Now‚ the pictures‚ they gotta be good, you know? Can’t just slap any old thing on a card and call it a Tarot。 The pictures gotta tell a story。 Gotta make you feel somethin’。 If it’s a Greek God, he better look powerful and important。 If it’s a love card, it better have some hearts and flowers, or maybe two people lookin’ all goo-goo eyed at each other。 You get the picture‚ right? It’s all about the feelin’ it gives ya。

And it ain’t just about the pictures neither。 It’s about the stories behind them。 You see‚ them myths‚ they ain’t just made-up tales。 They tell us somethin’ about life‚ about people, about how the world works。 They talk about love and loss‚ about war and peace‚ about good and evil。 Same kinda stuff we deal with every day。 That’s why they stick around‚ I reckon。 People been tellin’ these stories for thousands of years。 And now they puttin’ them on cards。

Some folks, they say these Tarot cards can tell the future。 I don’t know about that。 Seems kinda far-fetched to me。 But I do think they can make you think。 They can make you look at your life in a different way。 They can help you see things you might not have seen before。 Like‚ maybe you draw a card with a big ol’ tower gettin’ struck by lightning。 Maybe that means somethin’ big is gonna change in your life。 Or maybe you draw a card with a couple holdin’ hands‚ and that means love is comin’ your way。 Who knows for sure? But it’s fun to think about。

The Rider-Waite deck, now that’s a famous one。 Seems like a lot of these new decks‚ they kinda copy that one, but with their own twist。 Like‚ they take the Rider-Waite ideas‚ but then they put Greek Gods on them, or stars‚ or whatever they like。 It’s like makin’ a stew。 You got your basic recipe, but then you add your own spices and veggies to make it your own。 That’s what these Tarot folks do‚ I guess。

One fella‚ he said he likes to think of the big cards‚ the Major Arcana‚ as all Gods and the little cards‚ the Minor Arcana, as just regular people stories。 I think that’s a pretty good way to look at it。 Makes sense, anyhow。 Gods do big things, and people do little things。 But all of it together, that’s life。

So, there you have it。 My two cents on these Mythology Tarot decks。 They’re pretty‚ they got stories‚ and they might even make you think a little。 Ain’t nothin’ wrong with that, is there?
